The department of Basic Science & Humanities was established since the inception of this institute and has learned Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors in its array. Creativity in the life is the real essence of our experience, our learning, our aspirations, our matured thoughts, our passion for learning and many more. The efforts of departments in organizing various conferences and workshops is an indication of our quest for learning and experimenting. Research work and book publishing has become a passion of the department. The department has published text books of Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and few more are in the pipe line. This department not only takes pride in taking initiative in giving the training of soft skills to add a fragrance to student’s technical knowledge but also grooming them for their global exposure. Department of Basic Science plays an important role to catering the teaching of basic Science course for engineering students of all branches of engineering. Applied Sciences encompasses following departments: Chemistry, English, Environment Sciences, Management, Mathematics, and Physics. The main purpose of is to lay a strong foundation of basic principles of various disciplines such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Communication Skills in the mind of the learners to make them strong in fundamentals before handing them over to their concerned engineering disciplines for completing their required credits. We are committed to deliver an excellent graduate program of study as well as provide an opportunity for cutting-edge research in all natural and basic sciences. Our faculty members adhere to the possibly high standard of teaching and actively work to involve students fully in the educational experience.

Our Laboratories have been very well established not only to cover complete syllabus but to motivate students to learn beyond the syllabus which definitely develops complete knowledge of the subject (both the practical and theoretical) and develop skill sets of students to become promising engineers in future. We try to provide comprehensive and learning curriculum that ensures an interdisciplinary learning for educating the person, mind, body, and spirit. We expect our students to perform well at academic level, and to go beyond being significant contributors. There are numerous opportunities for our students to participate in different activities. Our faculty members are always ready to encourage the students to hone their skills in different spheres.

OurLabs

Physics laboratory in the department provides an experimental foundation for the theoretical concepts introduced in the lectures. It is important that students have an opportunity to verify some of the ideas for themselves. Here the students familiarize experimental apparatus, the scientific method, and methods of data analysis so that they will have some idea of the inductive process by which the ideas were originated.

The purpose of the laboratory is to reinforce the material that students have learned in class and give them a chance to apply knowledge. They learn some important experimental techniques that are necessary for them to become an effective engineer. It allows them to delve more deeply in the topics of interest. Here the students learn how to deal with complexity, both in experimentation and data analysis, which is an important component of any engineer’s expertise.

The Chemistry Lab is well equipped to design and execute the experiments and interpret the results obtained. The lab is designed with the objective of better understanding of syllabus and to develop the analytical skills in students. Students work in a group of three to develop the spirit of teamwork. Each student is instructed to perform and show every reading noted in the manual.

Each experiment is performed in presence of two faculties, a lab technician and assisted by a housekeeping staff.

Electrical Engineering currently offers one laboratory course (Electrical Engineering Laboratory)to all first year branches of B.TECH. Experiments include basic studies of Kirchhoff's laws, Superposition and Thevenin theorem, power factor improvement using capacitor, phenomenon of resonance in RLC series circuit, measurement of power using 2-wattmeter method, connection and power measurement of a tube light, measurement of parameters of RLC series circuit, measurement of efficiency of single phase transformer, running and reversing of 3 phase Induction motor.

The college has a well equipped communication lab, that acts as a platform to allow students apply the theoretical knowledge of communication dimensions acquired in the theory classes. Specifically, they explore voice dynamics, phonetics, speaking with emphasis, intonation and non verbal inputs to make effective presentation, public speech, keynote speech and extempore, besides practicing interviews and good sessions.

Engineering Graphics & Design


Technical drawing, also known as drafting, is the act and discipline of composing drawings that visually communicate how something functions or is to be constructed. Technical drawing is essential for communicating ideas in industry and engineering. To make the drawings easier to understand, people use familiar symbols, perspectives, units of measurement, notation systems, visual styles, and page layout. Engineering drawing is entirely a graphic language. Drawing equipment and instruments are needed to record information on drawing paper. Some important concept of engineering drawing is likeprojection of Points, Line ,Planes. Also we are study Projections of Solids and draw its Angle of projection in both Methods.

Our labs are fully equipped with all the latest designing software's used in industries i.e. AutoCAD, Inventor & SolidWorks.

For the practical knowledge we are providing platforms to students related to different mini-projects on designing fields i.e. designing of automobile, aircrafts-drone, etc. Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. The Designing software's are the tools that can be used for design and drafting activities. The two-dimensional and three-dimensional models created in AutoCAD &Solidworks can be transferred to other computer programs further analysis and testing.

Workshop

The objective of the central workshop is to equip the students with practical knowledge and on hand practical skills to become a capable engineer. The main purpose of an engineering workshop is to provide the basic working knowledge of the different types of basic production operations which are used in vast area of manufacturing industries. Further the various shops in the central workshop provide students with an insight of working knowledge and applications of various types of tools and machines to convert the raw material into the useful components. The Workshop is well equipped with the machines and students are also motivated and actively engaged to make different types of project with the help of these machines. Central workshop lab finds its application in all types of industries such as metal cutting, fabrication, Foundry, welding etc.
