About the Department
The Department of Civil Engineering was started in the year 2008 with the aim of producing high quality technical manpower needed by industry, R&D organizations, and academic institutions. The academic activities of the department emphasize deep understanding of fundamental principles, development of creative ability to handle the challenges of Civil Engineering, and the analytical ability to solve problems which are interdisciplinary in nature. In addition to teaching, the faculty members of the department are motivated to enhance their research potential and to enroll for higher studies. The department has set up laboratory facilities with state-of-the-art equipment for carrying out research, teaching, and consultancy activities in various disciplines of Civil Engineering. Students are encouraged to showcase their ideas to prepare working models related to civil engineering and also publish their project work in reputed journals.

- Every year students have been qualifying GATE exam.

- The officials of ACC Ltd. Kanpur delivered lectures on the topic "Best Practices in Construction" on 23rd February 2018.
- Faculty participated in workshop on "Research Proposal Writing" organized by Post Graduate Studies & Research Cell under TEQIP-III (Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow) on 25th February 2018.

- Students prepared and displayed different models like "Gravity Dam and Hydro Power Plant", "Advanced Green Building", "Coastal Area Green City", "Evolution of Roads" and "Floating House" on 10th February 2018.

- Department organized different events like Computer Aided Designing, Advance Concrete Design, Bridge Designing, Building Planning Layout and Poster Presentation for the students on 11th February 2018.

- PSIT organized Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical, Literary & Management Fest-2018 (Zonal Level) on 23rd March 2018. Various colleges were participated. Civil Engineering Department organized "Bridge Kriti" event in this program.

- Students were winner in volleyball, football and basketball (16-02-2018 to 19-02-2018) at KIT Kanpur. They were runner up in football and winner in volleyball at zonal level (22-01-2018 to 25-02-2018).

- Faculty participated in two days workshop on the topic "Outcome Based Education" organized by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Lucknow held on 3rd and 4th April 2018.

- One day FDP on the topic "Recent Trends in Environmental Engineering" was organised jointly by the Civil Engineering and Applied Sciences Department on 28th December 2017.

- Department of Civil Engineering organised an Expert Lecture on the topic "Pollutant Transport in Groundwater" delivered by Dr. Rajesh Shrivastava, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur for the faculty and students on March 27, 2017.

- On 14th October 2017, under "Connect", the Junkyard event for school students was organised by the Civil Engineering Department.

- Students of the department made and displayed a prototype of Waste Water Treatment Plant on 17th Feb 2017.

- Students of the department made and displayed a model of Rotating Bridge on 17th Feb 2017.

- Experts lectures on 'Concrete Mix Design' was organized on 23rd January 2016 by the department in association with Heidelberg Cement India Ltd., Lucknow.

- Experts lectures on 'Light weight concrete' was organized on 28th February 2016 by the department in association with Associated Cement India Ltd.

- The lectures on the topic "Civil Engineering, Materials and Construction"were organized on 29th Febraury 2016 by the department in association with Larsen & Toubro Limited, Lucknow. at PSIT College of Engineering, Kanpur. Mr. K.S. Gopalakrishnan, Planning In-Charge, Unnao Lucknow Expressway Project, Larsen & Toubro Limited, Lucknow explained about the project entitled "Unnao to Lucknow Expressway Green Field Road Project".
- The officials of CADD Concepts, Kanpur, delivered lecture on 1st March 2016 on the topic "Building Information Modeling (BIM)".

- Student of the department secured top rank in Seminar on topic "Employability Leadership Programme" organized by Aspiring Minds at Bengaluru, September, 2015.

- Students participated in the panel discussion on the topic "Corruption, Causes and Solutions" organized by EPFO, Ministry of Labor and Employment, Government of India held at PSIT campus in October, 2015.

- Models of PSIT campus were prepared by the students of 3rd year students and Burj Khalifa model by 2nd year students
